our 1st batch of Morinda Saplings planted in Flores

Today, 15 May 2021, Connect Indonesia and Wastra Indonesia London (https://wastra-indonesia.com) have successfully planted our first batch of natural dye trees in collaboration with the Mbola So weaving cooperative in Maumere, Flores. This milestone marks the beginning of our long-term commitment to support artisan communities with sustainable sources of natural dyes while also contributing to local reforestation. By working hand in hand with the weavers of Mbola So, we are not only helping preserve the environment but also strengthening the cultural traditions that make Indonesian textiles so unique.

Over the coming months, we will continue planting more trees across the island of Flores, helping to restore biodiversity while providing local weavers with sustainable sources of natural dyes for their craft.

Our sincere gratitude to everyone who has made this project possible.
